I am currently having issues with button configuation in CATIA V5 R20 SP1. I can access the VR button configuration menu in CATIA and assign the appropriate funcitons I wish to add to my space pilot pro. However, upon exiting the selection screen the space pilot pro will not recognise that I have added a custom selection and the funciton keys are still set to a default selection on the LCD screen. I have created around 5 button configurations from the CATIA menu and none will show up on the space pilot when selected. Help would be appreciated
After the button mapping is saved in the Catia editor you will need to select that configuration from the 3Dconnexion Control Panel. The driver does not get notification of which Catia mode you are using (part, design, sketch, ...) thus it cannot adapt the button mapping to the correct mode. You can manually switch from one configuration to the next one or you can assign this to a button (3Dx - Next Configuration) .
This works differently in Catia than it does in an application like SolidWorks since SolidWorks is using 3Dconnexion software for these functions while Catia is not. In SolidWorks when you change to a different mode - part , assembly - the software is able to recognize that, switch to the matching button configuration and display it on the SpacePilotPRO screen.
Device support and button mapping are internal to the Catia software. While we are willing to help if we can, it is their technical support that is the correct resource for issues working with the SpacePilotPRO inside Catia.
