Space Pilot Pro button lag in Inventor

Post by julesgf »

Hi

I have done something to introduce a lag between a button press and the execution of the command.
It's happens about for about 80% of button presses, eg. you might press "line" then "arc" then "line" etc and it will lag (~3 seconds) for 80% of those presses.
I've swapped usb sockets, tried the beta driver, un-installed driver, updated usb host drivers.
it's really annoying, I'm starting to look at complete re-install which I really dont have time for.
any ideas for troubleshooting this

Win 7 64 bit, latest drivers (non-beta), inventor 2011

Hi julesgf,

from your description I have the impression that the lag can appear to all kind of commands, not just to some of them. Is that correct?

Is this something you only saw recently? How long were you using the 3D mouse with Inventor 2011?

Do you remember what you did before the lag started to appear? (e.g. install SP1 for Win7)

Before you do a complete re-install of everything you could try a clean uninstall of the 3DxSoftware.

Hi

Yes, can be any command.
Yes is in the last 2 weeks
it was before SP1 but could be another update etc, I'm not sure which change it was, but must be something I did as it was fine a month ago.
I've been using it for over a year every day.
I tried a clean uninstall this morning and that made no difference however I did notice it didn't clear all the settings for the LCD screen (did clear the navigation and button settings though.)

Maybe you have the possibility to restore your machine's system back to a status from two weeks ago when the lag was not there? This would help us to see if thee problem came with a change on your machine or is related to something else.

Could be that the antivirus software is checking all data from the USB ports or the driver is not on the list of secure applications in the antivirus system? Could you check that?

unfortunately I cant roll back far enough to remove the problem
I dont have any active antivirus (just manual scan of suspected files)
