Why me today?

I have never used collage, but can someone help me?
I have just downloaded the latest version and installed with a spacepilot after just updating too solidedge ST4 (104), guess what, every link and short cut now opens collage? and I mean everything, I cant even open anything in control panal without collage kicking in, ANY SUGGESTIONS? or am I missing something?

Previous version was 3DxSoftware32_v3-12-2_r1029 which worked fine with ST3. I wanted to check for updates so download 3DxSoftware32_v3-14-1_r1161. I removed ST3 and 3DxSoftware32_v3-12-2_r1029.

I installed ST4 and everything was OK, I then installed 3DxSoftware32_v3-14-1_r1161 and disaster everything on the start menu, programs list and desktop short cuts now opens collage, and I mean everything!!!!!!

My head hurts and I now need to remove 3dxsoftware or sort it out!

Just done a reboot and I now have 24, yes 24 collage windows open as they have grabbed my start up applications also. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I managed to unistall and reinstall with thw custom install menu and without the collage option ticked, everything working, still concerned about the collage option grabbing all to fille associations tho.

The problem with Collage taking over the file associations is not one we have been seeing reported.It is a Windows issue that can happen when there is corruption in a registry key.The Windows shortcuts have a .lnk extension.If that extension is incorrectly linked to an application such as Collage, it can cause the behavior you described. It seems to happen most often with Notepad but can happen with any .exe.

Collage is a 'demo' application intended to increase familiarity with the 6DOF [six degrees of freedom] navigation. You can load several images then spin or rotate them at various angles to create an image composition.
Collage is intended as a display of navigation since it performs only that one function - placing images within a window.

Unless there are other Windows issues going on, you could likely re-load Collage at this point if you choose. Make sure all applications are closed then run the Repair function in Add|Remove Programs with Collage selected.This would add Collage to 3D Mouse Home and to the 3Dconnexion folder on your Start menu.

Thanks for the information, I have left collage off the PC as it's working, I may try again later when work load settles down. I have installed the previous version drivers (3.12.2) as I found I had an issue with keyshot that I didn't want to try and resolve at this time, for some reason when I rotated the model my brightness increased or decreased from the light source, I'll go back to it when I get chance, this also happened with the Beta 3dxware drivers I loaded to try when I was trying to resolve the collage problems. I have a pretty stable system at the moment and I don't want to upset the apple cart just yet.
