Spacepilot pro computer slowdown

i tried to find the answer on here but couldn`t find it

i`ve recently reinstalled my laptop for school
Acer aspire 7520G with 7 64 bit

and before i could use my spacepilot pro just fine but now when i start it my comp goes bonkers and almost slows down to a crawl

this happens when i use my spacepilot and only then i have to restart my comp because unplugging it does nothing

does anybody know what i could do

Hi kraaijkamp,

Using Task Manager, can you see what process or processes are loading the CPU the most?

non seem to be very high only idle system but that shouldn`t matter still my cpu is at 90%

i tried an older version that doesn`t work and i also tried recalibrating still to no avail

Hello kraaijkamp -

Can you check whether you have a single instance of the 3Dconnexion driver loading?
You will see it listed in your Startup folder [Start|All programs|Startup] as 'Start 3DxWare'.

When you check Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and look at 3dxsrv.exe.

Check the memory usage for the 3dxsrv.exe process.As you move the SpacePilot cap you should see the memory increase then decrease again as you stop moving the cap.

Also , you mentioned needing to reboot. It sounds like unplugging the SpacePilot is not stopping the driver and that is unusual. You can normally stop the driver with the Stop Driver shortcut or by right-clicking the 3Dconnexion system tray icon and choosing Exit.[Start|All programs|3Dconnexion|Driver|Start-Stop Driver]

The driver should stop once the SpacePilot is unplugged.If it does not, you could end the process.

You should be able to stop the driver then check how that affects the CPU load.

i tried stoping the driver but this did nothing to the spike in cpu usage

Can you tell what is spiking the CPU? You can sort the process list in Task Manager by "CPU" and this should tell you what is loading the system.

the thing that has the highest number is idle system the ones there after are 10 or les and there are not enough of those to allow a almost 100% usage

In that case, why do you say there is a spike in the CPU load? Perhaps you mean something else?

i say spike in cpu usage because my cpu gives a 91-98 range of usage it just cannot find the actions causing it

i viewed the system idle that means i set it for showing all users but this week my new PC is comming so i`ll try again when i can try it on that
