Auto rotation maya glitch

Post by Nemesiss »

Hi, I have installed latest drivers for my SpaceNavigator and I am really liking the new auto rotate function on the drivers. However there are certain things in scene that when I select Maya starts stuttering and my Maya widows glitching and menus and there is a really fast stream of the following running in my command response window:

// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
// Result: set1 //
// Result: set2 //
......

and so on.

This goes away when I turn off the Auto feature of the rotation I am running Maya 2012 64bit on 64bit Win7. However this seemed to also happen in my 2011 Maya I was using just a bit earlier. Any ideas what it could be?

Auto rotation maya glitch

Hello Nemesiss -

The // Result: set2 // // Result: set1 // output is not something we have been seeing reported. We haven't determined yet what may be causing it.

Do you have other Maya add-ins installed ? Maya BonusTools?

Are you seeing anything in common in the type of objects selected when this begins - for instance is it happening only in complex models?

Hi Nemesiss,

we can not stop this output. It comes from Maya. Can you switch off the option to show results in the script which may help ...

I have this problem as well. If the "Auto" rotation center option is enabled, and if the Maya Attribute Editor is open, then as soon as I click on an object in the viewport, it starts going crazy and output all the set1 set2 message in the script output window...

This is not useable like this. Any ideas?

I have just done a clean re-install of both Maya 2012 and the latest 3DConnexion driver and the problem remains.

It actually is not limited to when Attribute Editor is open like I suggested in my previous post. It happens when the "Auto" rotation center is enabled. It seems to happen at random when some objects are selected but not all objects. I have not found a pattern yet.

This is a serious problem. I need the "Auto" option enabled but it is not useable at the moment...
