3dconnexion Problem before Bios loads

Post by Jrpolaradmin »

I have done a fresh install of windows 7 pro 64 bit on a machine we have here at work. I am getting a problem prior to the Bios loading, whenever I restart the machine it will hang until I unplug the 3dconnexion mouse. The bios will load if I do a shut down then start manually. I am using a DP35DP intel motherboard. These are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue

1. Updated the bios to current version
2. Flash the CMOS settings
3. Uninstalled the 3dconnexion mouse, PC wouldnt restart without it installed. I believe its a Bios issue
4. Ensured that USB boot device is turned off in bios
5. turned off legacy drivers in bios
6. Ensured all drivers are updated
7. First boot device is set to hard drive
8. Tried unplugging regular mouse and keyboard on restart, still hangs until I unplug 3dconnexion.

please let me know if you have had this issue and what you did to resolve it, reading the intel forums the DP35DP bios does not support windows 7, but the only item I have had issues with on restart was the 3dconnexion mouse.

3Dconnexion Problem before Bios loads

Hello Jrpolaradmin -

Which 3Dconnexion software are you using - the released software [Release 3.14.2] or the beta driver [3DxWare 10 Beta 11] ?

The released software loads at Windows startup.

We are using the released software [Release 3.14.2] I assume if I installed the beta software, it would not load at startup. Is the Beta software good enough to use in a production environment ? Also a little weird it only happens on a restart and not on a shut down then start up. Maybe it has a way to bypass on a cold start of the system

Hello Jrpolaradmin -

No, beta software is not recommended for production - and it wouldn't solve the issue you are seeing. I asked about the beta only because it loads earlier than the release version so I thought that may be what you were using.

Could you send me the serial number in a PM ? It is located on the tag attached to the USB cable. [PID#]
