Spacepilot Pro, Wildfire 5.0 & Microsoft Office

Post by soabe20pc »

I have just aquired a Spacepilot pro on Windows 7 64bit,and installed the latest driver 3DxSoftware64SPP_v3-15-2_r1219

This gives me the plugin for ProEngineer but nothing for Microsoft Office.

I know there is 3DxWare which will work with Office, but if I install this will it conflict with the standard driver and will I lose the Pro/E plugin if I do?

Advice please

The 3DXOffice plugin was written for Win XP 32 bit, it was written for Office 2000-200.The add-in is no longer being updated and is listed in the archive section of the Driver downloads under the products it can be used with.

Installing earlier drivers that included the 3DxOffice addin will not run on Win 7.
The drivers were written long before Win 7 was available.
Also depending on the version of Pro-E the button mapping add-in may not work.

OTOH, the new 3DxWare 10 driver has support for Office apps. It is in beta. You can install it and let us know how it works for you.

jwick,

That brings me back to my original question.
If I try to install 3DxWare 10 will it overwrite or interfere with the standard drivers (3DxSoftware64SPP_v3-15-2_r1219) which works with my Pro/E?

If the 3DxWare 10 can be installed alongside the standard drivers then that gives me what I want, but if not then I have to choose which is most useful to me, functioning Pro/E plugin or Offfice compatability.

Hence my request for advice before I try to install 3DxWare 10.

Regards

3DxWare 10 contains the same ProE plugin as 3DxSoftware 3.15.
