Please help a newbie :)

Post by carlroger »

Hi all,

I'm a total newbie at this and just got my first SpaceMouse Pro three days ago. My primary use will be in SketchUp and SolidWorks, and here it works great, a fantastic tool.

I'm in the solarpanel industry (PV) and I'm using a PV simulation software called PV*SOL every day. In PV*SOL I can navigate a 3D "world" - move left/right/up/down/forward/backwards, pan left/right/up/down and zoom in/out - using specific keys on the keyboard. Can the SpaceMouse Pro be programmed to emualte these key strokes?

The keys are:

'+' - Zoom in
'-' - Zoom out
'W' - Move forward
'S' - Move backwards
'A' - Move left
'D' - Move right
'R' - Move up
'F' - Move down

Num left arrow - Pan left
Num right arrow - Pan right
Num down arrow - Pan down
Num up arrow - Pan up

/Carl

Yes, you can use 3DxWare 10 (in beta -- see 3DxLabs) to do this.

It doesn't seem that 3DxWare 10 supports the SpaceMouse Pro. And from this thread viewtopic.php?t=4830 the support is coming, so I just have to wait :)

Sorry, I missed that. Yes, you will have to wait until we do another beta.
