Missing Popup Menu

Post by wingtipz »

I'm running Win7 64bit, Pro/E WF4.0 and a SpaceMouse Pro. I was trying to do some configuration with the standard Properties window but wasn't getting very far. I remember from my usage of a SpacePilot with Inventor that there was another menu system to use. Looking at the Properties I see that when in Pro/E that pressing the Menu button should get me the Popup menu but it doesn't.

Anybody else have this issue?

Please help!

Missing Popup Menu

Post by Barbara »

Hi wingtipz -

To have the pop-up menu available, the 3DxProE add-in needs to be installed. The Pro/E navigation is available without it - the add-in provides the pop-up menu and the button mapping editor.

To install the add-in, with Pro/E closed go to Win 7 Programs and Features and choose 3Dconnexion - Repair.

When you open Pro/E after installing the add-in you'll see the 3DMouseNews window that shows the pop-up menu.

If Pro/E is installed on a server the steps shown here are needed to install the add-in.

I have the add-in installed. I've done both a repair and a clean uninstall-install of the drivers and still do not have the popup menu or item on the menu bar in Pro/E.

Pro/E is installed on this machine, not on the server, though it's installed in c:\ptc\proe instead of c:\program files\proe. Could this be the problem?

Thanks,

Gabe

When you start ProE do you see the 3Dx Mouse News??

What version of WF 4 do you have installed?

Do you start ProE as the logged in user? Is this user a standard user or a user with admin rights?
