Pilot with Inventor 2011

Post by awarren »

My Pilot Pro was working fine and I took it to the office. So I broke out the old Pilot for the house. When I am using Inventor all the buttons work fine. The controller will not work while I am in Inventor, but if I click on the Connexion Button in the system tray it will work in INV. As soon as I click back into INV it quits working. I was thinking I ran across this years ago and it was a setting somewhere...

Hello Andrew -

It sounds like there may be data corruption in one of the profiles.

There is not a specific setting needed for navigation in Inventor. As long as the Space Pilot is working outside of Inventor, the application should be able to recognize it. Since it is not - until you click the System Tray icon - you may be able to correct it by removing the custom profile for Inventor which will return it to the default Inventor profile [3Dconnexion Control Panel – Options - Delete Saved Configuration].

The profile being used is shown at the top of the 3Dconnexion Control Panel. With Inventor as the application in focus, the profile should be either Inventor or Inventor-loginname.

If removing the profile does not correct the problem you can use the clean install steps to remove the 3Dconnexion profiles and registry entries.

You can check that the Space Pilot is working outside of Inventor 2011 with one of the installed demos.[Start| All Programs| 3Dconnexion| Demos -Jet Demo]
