Vertical mode confuses pan and zoom

When I setup the space navigator in vertical mode (XZYRVU) and I try to use the pan only or zoom only hotkey the software confuses zoom and pan up/down.

For example when using Zoom Only everything is disabled but Pan Up/Pan down.

Also is there a way to setup hotkeys to disable and enable arbitrary axis? (For example pan and one rotational axis)

If you want functionality that the GUI doesn't provide (or does faulty), the best approach would be to install 3DxWare 10 (which is in beta). The profiles are all file based and if you manually edit the file, the driver will pick up your changes. At that point, you can assign a device button to run a bat file that copies profiles around, or if you are particularly clever, you can write a script that will edit the file.
