Can I "mix" drivers?

Post by Bumper »

Hey,

I'm currently running release version 3.14.2 with my Space Pilot Pro for using 3DS Max 2012. I have recently installed Maya 2013 and would like to use the latest driver.

Can I install the latest driver JUST for Maya and not adversely effect my old driver for Max?

I would do a complete new install for both but I find re-configuring my buttons and setting to be a HUGE pain in the kiester.

Thanks!

Hello Lee,

no, sorry, you do not have the possibility to install two different drivers. But it seems you just want to keep the plugin for 3dsmax. 3DxSoftware 3.14.2 has the plugin 3DxStudio version 5.3.0 and the latest one, 3DxSoftware version 3.15.6 includes 3DxStudio version 5.4.1. Besides that I recommend to use the newest one you could try the following:
  • launch the installer for 3DxSoftware 3.14.2, select "Modify" and uncheck everything except 3DxStudio
  • launch the installer for 3DxSoftware 3.15.6 and uncheck the box for 3DxStudio.
I hope this works for you. I haven't tested it.

Hey Uta,

I misspoke, I indeed want to mix plug-ins not drivers. I will try your suggestion. Thank you for your reply!
