Cimatron catia eats ...

Post by fdr »

I would like to help me ...
About 6 months ago I bought the SpaceNavigator that I work on pc
CATIA V5 R21 SP3 have worked great and like autocad 2010 and the other programs that we can have services installed 3D mouse.
installed two months ago because V8.5 Cimatron is a program that we want to go poking around in the company know at design catia machining but no one can exceed so we want them.
The problem is that the mouse has ignored and since we installed catia Cimatron
It stopped working with CATIA.
Have you tried everything discussed by the forum, cleaning records, current drivers and reinstall nothing works.
When we opened the window catia properties SpaceNavigator catia option appears and is automatically activated but is as if you were locked step with the mouse.
Other work automatically just start.
We have updated professional W7, I installed and reinstalled mouse drivers, I reinstalled in a different order catia programs, cleaning Cimatron good records but the end result is always catia still no go with the mouse and the other without problem.
I would greatly appreciate any help because catia use it much and once you get used to working with the 3D mouse costs a lot to be without.
Thank you in advance greetings.

teninido forgive but I use a translator online that my English is very bad ...

Hello ...
We tested in another pc, install catia only works well with other programs
but if you install another program with similar characteristics as if block access
catia mouse or mouse to Catia, Cimatron like me.
But it happens to everyone, for example SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD allow perfectly
Communication between all.
There are only a few that block access to install catia.
Regards, and thanks for the possible help.

the only solution is to remove one of the two programs
the pc.
having installed only one recognizes it and it works.
but that does not think it's a good solution.
entoces can only work with a CAD program for pc.
the fact that I was disappointed this 3D mouse.

Holla, fdr.

Apologies for not replying any sooner.

Not sure what might cause this issue (CATIA not working after installing Cimatron). Is it possible that the installation changed how CNEXT.exe is run? For example, is CNEXT.exe now run as admin or as a different user? In other work properly, CNEXT and the 3D mouse driver process must be run as the same user (and with the same permissions).

You may also want to check this and this FAQs.

Applications should not be run as administrator as it will significantly degrade the system's security. We recommend that you run all applications as a normal user.

If you have to run CATIA as admin, you will likely need to run the driver's daemon process as admin as well. The executable file name is "3dxsrv.exe".

Make sure that 3dxsrv.exe is run with the same privelieges as the application and then check if the issue has been addressed.

Hi fdr,
I tried what you say but that option did not work I .
Not sure I follow you. Are you saying that you have tried running 3dxsrv.exe as administrator but this does not resolve the problem?

In that case, why not try running CATIA (CNEXT.exe) as the normal user?

I think we need to look back at the initial report.

You say that CATIA works with your 3D mouse until you have installed Cimatron. Is that correct? If so, did the installation of Cimatron blocked the 3D mouse only in CATIA or did it also affected other applications?
