I am running Blender 2.63 and 2.63a with my Spaceball 5000. I cannot get my rotational or translational
directions to reverse (through Blender or 3DConnexion interface). What performance I see in Blender is
opposite (in direction) in my Solidworks. Can anyone help?
Blender uses a model that you are moving the camera (yourself) not the object. I would be surprised if they didn't have a UI for modifying the behavior. The best place to find out is on the blender forums. The interface was implemented by the blender community. If you find out something, please post the results here.
This might help get you started in the correct location to change the axis directions.
I believe in version 2.5 they added the ability to invert axes" under the "orbit options in the menu.
The link i found was referring to the left button on a Navigator was set to open up the popup menu.
"Sorry i no longer have a Spaceball 5000 to see what button is pre-defined."
From here you can choose the x,y,z check the boxes.
I am believing that maybe Spaceball 5000 is not responding to Blender as a newer model would. Tutorials I have watched
from Blender sources show a menu that pops up by pressing the right mouse button to allow reversing of the zoom axis.
I don't think they are using a Spaceball 5000. Just a guess but I bet its a good chance. I would need to purchase a more
current model to prove this case.
