I'm 95% sure that a 64bit driver for Vista needs to be signed, so even if RBC9 compiled such a driver, it would not be usable on Vista x64.

Hi just got my SpaceNavigator yesterday its working great. I was just wondering if your driver can replicate applications that use Maya style navigation ie Alt+ LMB+Drag type movements, or is this dependent on wether they have native keyboard navigation as well as mouse. Thanks Lewi

Driver Install Reboots Computer

Post by kalley85 »

I have followed the directions and when I update the driver by selecting the RBC9 SpaceNavigator and click continue anyway, it starts copying, the lights on the navigator come on and the computer reboots. Any ideas???

Hi, I have been using your driver in combination with the default 3Dx one and it is working amazingly, thanks once again.

My reason to post is that I am just in the process of installing the drivers for my SN on another machine along with your drivers and was wondering if there is anyway to copy across all the binds and settings to the other machine without having to re-do them all individually as both machines run pretty much the same software and I have set up loads of auto-swtich layers and binds etc... Are they all stored inside a file that I can copy over to the other machine?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

RBC9:

Is it possible to use two SN, ST, or one SN & one ST at the same time, one on your left as 3D input device (used 3D connexion driver) and one on the right as a standard 3 buttons wheel mouse (RBC9 driver)? In other word, how can I let a specific program (Wildfire a 3D modeler) know which SN/ST is a mouse and which SN/ST is a 3D input device? Effectively, I have a little problem when running a 3D model Wildfire program. Since both driver is running, the program recognize the ST on the right as both 3D input device and mouse. As a result when the mouse cursor moves, the 3D object in Wildfire moves, rotate, zoom-in, zoom-out etc along with it.

Hi

great driver :D

I have to add the following notes to the installation process:
-The correct "USB Human Interface Device" can also be identified on the "General" tab of the properties. There's Device type, Manufacturer and Location, just pick the device with "Location 0 (SpaceNavigator)". Maybe easier.
-If UPNP (or other services?) are disabled you'll end up with a lot of unrecogniced devices and have to manually update the driver for each device. (This is not a problem of this driver, just to make this clear.)

@RBC9:
- When u are in the Edit Layout screen , the driver stop sending to Joystick Mouse and Keyboard. The driver restart when u leave this screen.
Why does the driver stop when you're on the edit screen? For me, using the device sometime as a mouse replacement it would be very convinient to use it also on the edit screen.

And, using it as a mouse: May it be possible to add a control to the GUI allowing to set the mouse speed? (Windows has one global mouse speed setting - this one affects all connected mouses. It's not possible to adust the mouse speed of different mouses individually.) As I use the SpaceNavigator sometimes as mouse replacement this would be a nice feature.

Is there a way to stop the driver other than by opening the Edit Layout screen? During let's say Google Earth exploration you might want to have this driver stopped. Creating an Google Earth layout without any binding should do this, I guess.

If you ever might consider to add more features to the driver, maybe you could consider my input. The driver works very well, and I'm very satisfied with it. Thanks!

Thanks for this very useful project :)

I've grown kind of attached to using my SpaceNavigator, so I finally decided I'll give this a try and use it in other apps as well. Have the same problems as mentioned by others before though: would probably a need 64 bit version, since I'm running XP Pro 64 bit.

Vista drivers need to be code-signed, thats true (with a certificate bought from VeriSign, Thawte, etc. ... about 200$/year ... if RCB would name an address to send paypal donations to, that shouldn't be too much of a problem... though a first try may even be a free self-signed CA & certificate).

Can't load joystick driver in XP64

Post by cactusfire »

I would like to use my new SpaceNavigator PE as a joystick. I downloaded the RBC9 driver setup.exe, but it says the installer requires the .NET framework. The .NET framework is not available for Windows XP64. Do you have a link to the drivers that are not bundled with this installer - just zipped, for example?

Thanks
