Windows 7 64b, Space Explorer USB, Latest 3dconnexion drivers, Cisco anyconnect VPN connection
I am having problems with Space Explorer working during a VPN connection while using Catia V5 R18/R19/R20.
If VPN connection is made, then catia is started Space Explorer will not work.
IF VPN connection is made, then Unigraphics NX7.5 is started Space Explorer works fine.
The 3dconnexion demos work fine during a VPN connection.
If I start Catia V5 with a nodelock license, then connect to VPN the Space Explorer works fine.
This is not preferred method. I need/prefer to have Catia connect to environment files that are on VPN network.
I Have disabed the laptops firewall, no luck.
I.T. says that there are no restrictions on the VPN.
I have tried connecting to VPN with both wireless and wired network connections.
Same results on 2 computers.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rick

It looks like your VPN configuration is modifying the loopback adapter behaviour. Is that possible?
CATIA relies on the loopback network to root internal events and if your VPN is blocking that traffic, if you may have issues operating a range of CATIA features, including support for 3D mice. Ask yoru IT department to make sure the VPN is set up in a way that does not affect the loopback network (if at all possible).

Hi,
I have exactely the same problem and I talked to the IT admin. He wants to know the port we have to unlock in the VPN to use the Space navigator with CATIA v5R20 in VPN.
Thanks

Check with Dassault Systemes on what port needs to be enabled.
Also did you make sure you added cnext.exe as trusted ?

"No navigation with 3D Mouse in CATIA V5, ENOVIA V5, DELMIA V5 (firewall blocking cnext.exe, dmu.exe, delmia.exe)
This article applies to all builds of Dassault Systèmes' CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA V5 on Windows systems.
On Windows systems, the application process requires access to the local loop network device.
Firewall software, both third-party and Windows Firewall, may block the application process from accessing the network.
To fix this problem, use the user interface of the firewall software to allow the application process to access the network.
Application process names as shown on the Task Manager panel:
CATIA V5: cnext.exe
DELMIA V5: delmia.exe
ENOVIA V5: dmu.exe "
