Problems with keys in Modo 601[SpaceMouse Pro]

Post by ikarus »

Hello again, i just managed to install the drivers finally but unfortunately i stumbled upon another problem.

I cant configure the buttons properly. I wish to configure the button "Fit"for example to act as the "Space key" on the keyboard and when i do, modo does both commands Fit into view as well as what the space key does.
This happens with all the buttons its as if modo keeps its values and the driver fails at overwriting them thus i am getting 2 commands with button and that is an issue.

Please help.

You may need to use 3DxWare 10 (in beta) to eliminate this duplicate behavior.

Ok, installed but it doesn't fix the issue. I tried mapping it to Right click and in Windows it works but if i try to map it to the space key it doesn't work. Doesn't work in neither modo anymore as a space bar key, just as default.
:(

Come on ! this could've been a perfect tool of creation.

also, i tried creating a special profile for modo, it fixes some calibration issues but the buttons act just as before with the previous version.

How did you map it? To which function in the GUI?
Did you create a macro? That will fire a press and immediately follow that with a release.

If you want to hold the device button down and have the Space Key held down, until you release the device button, I have to tell you a different way to do that.

How did you map the Spacebar in the 3DxWare panel?
Just PM me the profile you created.

Nevermind, the guys @ luxology helped me to get around this issue hacking some lines into the .cfg file.

BUT NOW a new problem. It seems the 3D mouse fails to work with ultra high poly objects ! ( about a million, )

WIthout the mouse the computer has no issue handling such many pollies, i wanted to aid my work with this mouse, now i am one week behind.
Anyway, i hope this gets fixed soon.

If the 2D mouse works fine with extremely large objects, that indicates that Modo can work well with them. This is very important.

What does the 3D mouse do? Nothing? No response? Slow response? Lags behind your movement?
If the 2D mouse works fine, then the 3D mouse code inside Modo can be fixed to work just as well. Unfortunately since Luxology did all the work, only they can fix it. OTOH, they are very responsive to address issues like that.

Please contact them and keep the other 3D mouse users here, up-to-date with any information you find.
