Trying to update drivers on 100+ machines

Post by dthibault »

Hello folks,

I am in the process of trying to update the drivers on 100+ Space Explorers. Pretty much all of them are using the 3.1.8 driver which we needed to work with NX4.

We are now on a new version of NX (7.5), and the buttons on the Space Explorer don't work with the new software. I am now trying to update all the users using the newest 3.16.1 driver.

Is there an easy way to remove all Plugins and the driver at the same time? I have been trying to script this using SCCM for a few days, but the uninstall leaves the Plugins in the Start menu. My predecessor would just install all the Plugins, so there are tons of them. I create an install file with a ton of msiexec /x "C:\Windows\Installer\94b05.msi" /qb entries for each of the products installed, but this fails when run remotely.

Anyway, I guess I was just hoping there was a quick way to remove all traces of the previous driver and all plugins so I can push out the newer version. I could do it manually, but we own probably 150 of these devices.

If anyone here has any experience with wiping out all traces of the old software and installing the new version, I would love some pointers!

Thanks!

Hi dthibault,

unfortunately I have no experience with installing and uninstalling remotely many machines. But maybe you can find more information on what to remove here.
