So I have been using the Space Pilot Pro for the last couple of years. My current computer is only 4 months old, and all of a sudden, just 3 days ago, the mouse doesn't work any more.
What is wrong:
It randomly stopped working, and the computer doesn't seem to recognize it is there. The lcd just glows with the SpacePilot Pro logo. I also can't seem to get the drivers to run at all, aka, task manager never seems to show the process. Windows does not make the USB connect/disconnect sound upon doing so.
What I have Tried:
I have checked device manager and control panel, and neither show the existence of the Space Pilot Pro.
I have tried unplugging it, holding down 1 & 2 and replugging it; it simply does its initializing and then nothing.
I have tried a different USB port and windows it still oblivious.
I have reinstalled the drivers, and it makes no difference.
I have uninstalled the drivers and hard rebooted, and windows doesn't see it.
I plugged it into a different computer, one which has never had a 3dmouse before, and windows recognized it.
I think that is everything... any ideas? It is really putting a dent in the speed of my work, and a literal dent in my finger from that pesky mmb.

Hello Arod529,
that sounds as if your USB port is a bit unsteady. You mention that you tried another USB port, too and have the same problem. How many USB ports has your machine? USB 2 or 3? What Hardware do you have? What Windows version? Does the device show up in the device manager? See here how to check.

Were there any new updates via Windows, Spyware software?
Have you tried a Clean install of our driver?
Does your Antivirus software or Spyware software have the ability to block usb ports?
If so, did you notice any popups asking for permission to run or stop a process?
Try a system restore to the last day the device was detected.
If this fixes the issue then it was due to a recent update.
You would then need to uninstall our device leave it unplugged.
Install the patches then install our software.

Some how, I don't know when or why, it got plugged into a stupid usb 3.0 port... and apparently, it worked for some reason for whatever period of time it has been there. I have never been able to get anything to work on USB 3 and if my mouse and/or keyboard is plugged into one, it will completely crash the computer. When I tried another port, it just so happened to be USB 3... so it didn't work. Plugging it back into a USB 2, and it's all back to normal... I hate it when I miss the obvious stuff.
