Out of focus processing for Raw Input

Post by alexey.1984 »

Greetings!

I have a few more questions for the topic above..

Currently we are faced with situation, when our users need to work with CATIA and our application simultaneously. So they for example have two monitor setup and working with each application on separate screen.

Naturally, it is expected that only active window should receive and process device input. And it works well if say one application is CATIA and another is some demo from 3D Connexion (like Jet demo for example). With this setup, only focus application receives input from the device and changes model position/rotation.

But, moving on to new SDK which recommends raw input, everything is not so well. If I for example assemble sample S3DM Viewer, put it in foreground, CATIA in background - CATIA will be rotating as well, even though being out of focus. Same happens for our application, since we based input processing on example from SDK..

Is there a way using raw input method / SDK to capture all input only only in active window? So application will "eat" all messages from device and they won't make it further?

Thank you in advance for possible help.

Hi alexey.1984,

3DxWare 10 (our new software stack) addresses this issue. Only the application with input focus will get 3D mouse events.
