When we search for the updated 3.17.3 driver for the SPACEPILOT it comes up with no updated driver is available for this device. This would be true for both Windows 7 & 8 64 bit. There is an update for the Spacepilot PRO model that shows up. Have you dropped support for the Spacepilot (original square model)

It appears they havent updated the driver for the SpacePilot.
Looking at:
http://www.3dconnexion.com/faq/39
Original SpacePilot device type not officially supported in software published after March 2013.

So, even though official support for the SpacePilot is over, we can still install the latest drivers for the foreseeable future?

Hi catamountain,

Yes, you can still expect the SP to work with recent releases for some time. We no longer test the SpacePilot with newer releases and we will not address bugs that specific for the now unsupported device type.
