I use a Space Navigator at work for Inventor, and just recently purchased a Spacepilot Pro for at home as I also recently purchased a 3D printer. The Spacepilot Pro says that it recognizes certain programs out of the box, but it only recognizes them intermittently. It usually will recognize Sketchup if I am in the program, but doesn't show up in the list in the properties of 3D home. Nothing shows up in the list except for "Any Application". I've tried using Inventor Fusion at home, and have had the SPP recognize it before, but can't get it to recognize it again. I have thought it was an issue with the plugins, but have uninstalled and re-installed the drivers many times, and still no luck.
I am on a clean install of Windows 8, and have nothing on the computer except for the drivers, Inventor Fusion, and Sketchup.

Which driver do you have installed?
What type of keyboard are you using?
Are your applications installed to be run as admin?
Make sure your plugging in the device directly into the usb port and not through a hub.
Sketchup uses an addin we provide in the driver which version of sketchup are you using?
You can check your driver version in the 3Dconnexion Properties window under Help-About to verify you are using the current version. If you are using an earlier version you can download current software from www.3dconnexion.com/support/downloads.php.
As long as SketchUp is closed during the installation the 3Dconnexion extension will be added. After the installation , in SketchUp ,click on Windows -Preferences -Extensions and make sure 3dxsketchup is checked.
In the event you do not see 3DxSketchUp present after running the installer , check to see that the Plugins folder is present in your Sketchup path :
........On a 64-bit system the default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2013\plugins
When opening SketchUp 2013 after installing the 3DxSketchUp extension a '3DMouse News' window opens announcing the change in the location of the SketchUp options that were previously on the toolbar.The new pop-up menu replaces the toolbar.
You can now find the SketchUp options in the pop-up menu mapped to the left button of the SpaceNavigator, the "Menu" on the SpacePilotPRO, the "Panel" on the SpacePilot and SpaceExplorer. If you are updating a previous software version, save the 3Dconnexion software to your computer then remove the existing version using Add/Remove software.Before beginning the installation, make sure all of your applications are closed. The installation of the 3Dconnexion software needs to be done from a profile with full administrator permissions for the local PC. If this is a networked PC and you do not have full permission to write to the registry, an IT person would need to do the installation.

First , make sure your device is working outside of Inventor using the installed demos [Start, All Programs, 3Dconnexion, Demo- Jet Demo]
Navigation in Inventor uses the AutoDesk Navbar. 3Dconnexion devices in Inventor are controlled using the NavBar rather than using the 3Dconnexion Properties window. The Navbar is a vertical toolbar in Inventor with options for 3D navigation. This toolbar is part of Inventor rather than part of the 3Dconnexion software.When a 3Dconnexion device is connected , the bottom icon on the NavBar looks like a Space Navigator. The text for the tooltip is '3Dconnexion Settings'.

I have the latest driver installed. And have run the Update Wizard.
It is running on an HP Laptop, with a fresh install of Windows 8 on it.
The plugins all appear to be there, they just don't seem to run correctly. The Sketchup plugin works. It is Inventor Fusion that I'm having trouble with.
