I had custom button commands configured and all was fine for over 3 years. Suddenly they stopped working even though in the config tool it appears they are all assigned properly.
My suspicion is some sort of Windows or Kaspersky update is blocking anything but defaults. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any fixes??

If the problem is specific to one application, it is possible the custom profile is corrupted.
If you click 'Defaults' in the button editor, are you able to map new commands that work ?
As long as navigation is working, the Space Mouse Pro is able to communicate with the application. It is possible for a security application to interfere but we are not seeing recent examples of that.
A clean install of the 3Dconnexion software resolves the problem by removing all of the custom profile information as well as 3Dconnexion registry keys then re-installing.

Yes, it does seem specific to our Siemans NX ( V6 and V8 ) software. The only other app I really use it for is Google Earth and that seems fine. For NX, in the button mapping they are assigned, but they don't work. Pan, zoom, etc. is fine. This just started about a week ago.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Any other thoughts??

With more than one NX version installed the 3Dx NX button mapping options may be greyed out - that indicates the system environment variables need to be edited. The steps here explain what needs to done.
Environment variables are located on the Advanced tab in System Properties.
You will need to edit the ugii_env.dat file for each of your NX versions so that it correctly points to the path for 3dxnx.dll. When you re-start NX after modifying the Environment variables and editing the .dat files you should find the 3DxNX "Button Mapping Editor" available and your mapped buttons working.

Once you make a change, your login name is appended [ 'NX - loginname']. The 'Any Application' profile is a generic profile - this should not be the profile used for an application like NX that has its own profile. Profiles created with 'Save As' may be listed there too. When a profile is created this way, it needs to be selected from the drop-down list.

Hi Barbara...still no luck. I think it's more related to NX than anything. I now get an error MSVCP80.dll is missing when I launch NX - does this have anything to do with the Spacemouse?
As long as the pan/zoom/spin still works, I can get by with hotkeys. It's just strange that it happened suddenly. Thanks for all your help...

MSVCP80.DLL is a shared Windows file that various software uses and expects to find in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. If it is damaged or missing you will see the error stating the system was not able to locate MSCVP80.DLL.
If this a network PC , you may not have access to view or write to system folders - an IT tech would need to resolve this type of error.
If MSVCP80.DLL is in your C:\Windows\System32 folder, it is possible that your system variables have changed so that Windows is not looking in the correct folder for it. Open System Properties -> advanced -> environment variables and the variable PATH to see that it points to C:\Windows\System32.
If this does not resolve the problem you can re-install the
Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft.
