When the installation software is unable to complete it indicates a Windows Installer entry is corrupted. This can happen with any software that uses the Windows installer and Microsoft provides a utility to correct it.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Progr ... _Uninstall
You can either use the 'Run now' version or use 'Advanced-Download' to download the tool then run it.

The Microsoft uninstall utility was built for exactly this purpose - to remove the Windows Installer configuration for any program when the entry is corrupted.

The Microsoft uninstall window will show ALL of the applications that rely on Windows Installer. It asks you to select the program you are trying to uninstall. You will want to remove only a 3Dconnexion entry or any entries that do not show a program name. It is usually the last entry that is the un-named, corrupted entry.

Removing the last un-named entry is what allows the utility to correct the Windows installer error that causes the installation to stop.

Once the problem is corrected with the Microsoft utility the installer should be able to complete. The installation extracts to your temp folder. You can locate this folder using %temp% in the Windows 8 search field. Problems can also occur at this point if there is a corrupted file in the temp folder. If the installer is not able to extract files into this folder, clearing the temp folder may also be needed.

Its most likely a security setting blocking the install.
Try installing the SpaceMouse Wirelesss driver and see if that installs without issue.
The wireless mouse driver will identify all the current devices and installs differently.

Before installing perform a clean install

always get the same issue, when the extracting files ended. nothing happens.

if I search the file that appears in the image, 3dxproengineer64.msi. the windows search does not find.

Are all of your applications closed during the installation?
Is this a work pc or home?
If its a work pc have your IT person install the driver you may be lacking in a permission and it stops the installation.

Check if the "Microsoft .NET Framework" system feature is enabled: open the Control Panel and go to the "Uninstall or change a program", click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the panel's left-hand side and confirm if the .NET option is enabled. If it is enabled, try cycling it: disable the option, reboot, re-enable the option, reboot. After that, run the 3Dconnexion installer again and it should be able to complete.

I don't have any blocking in this pc. because this pc buy it by my departament directly and I received directly for DHL. never pass for the IT hands.

you can not attach the msi files? because the *.exe do not unzipping the files

I don´t why. but the 3dx software have several problem with windows 8.1 x64 pro.
I use this method.

1.- download Universal Extractor v1.6.1
2.- use the UE for extract the universal shell of the 3DxSoftware64_v3-17-7_r1650 file.
3.- using again the UE for extract all files of the 3DxSoftware64 file
4.- Install all the MSI files you need
5.- enjoy!
