Problems Setting Up Space Pilot Pro

Post by WillB »

Hi,
Today I setup my new space pilot pro and used driver 3.17.7 I work on a 64bit windows vista machine. I have a few queries (but will post separately). This time round I am asking if someone can help me with the fact that in internet explorer or google chrome the SPP does not control anything, I have a few buttons set to go back a page etc and they work but I cannot scroll down a page using the knob like was shown in some of the videos.

I should mention that my machine is administrator controlled and I had to get the IT department to install the driver for me so I cannot add any beta software. should I be able to do as I am asking from the shipped software?

Hi WillB,

the 3D mouse was originally designed to operate in 3D. Did you try your SpacePilot PRO with the 3Dconnexion Viewer or with Sketchup for example? The release driver for the SpacePilot PRO (3DxSoftware 3.17.7) provides support in 3D applications.

Additionally we have a new driver (3DxWare 10.0.18) that enables you to scroll and pan and zoom in your internet browser with the 3D mouse. Currently we offer it only for the SpaceMouse Wireless. But you can download it (select SpaceMouse Wireless on our download site) and try it with your SpacePilot PRO, too.

Hi,

I've tried to install the 3DxWare 10.0.18, eventhough I got the Space Mouse Pro and it's driver already installed(on Win7 64Bit). Now during the installation of the wireless driver the was a notice that both drivers aren't compatible together.
My Question; is there any way how to add the browser plugin to the benefits of the Space Mouse Pro and it's programmable keys?

Regards

The answer is NO.
The addins for the 3.17 driver use a .scg file for the profile.
The 10.0.19 driver uses an .xml for saving profiles.
You cannot have 2 drivers installed at the same time.
Perform a clean install. http://www.3dconnexion.com/faq/28

Then install the 10.0.19 driver.
