Hello,
My 3d mouse is not working in Motion Builder. Are there any drivers for this application?

Hello Shrike025,
which driver do you have installed? Which 3D mouse do you have?

Re: Motion Builder drivers
I've got SpaceMouse Pro.
Driver Version: 6.17.7
Drivers should be up to date, I downloaded them in December 2013 (a month ago). It's working in 3ds Max, Maya, CryEngine Editor etc. I've read in one topic from 2007 that Motion Builder wasn't supported at that time. Is it now?

Re: Motion Builder drivers
Please check with Autodesk to find out what needs to be enabled in the software to recognize your Device.
Back in 2010 Autodesk enabled the 32 bit version of the application, I donot know if this includes 64 bit version.
At that time it was not implemented and we asked users to contact Autodesk.

Hi Shirke025,
I think I found out what you have to do to enable support in MotionBuilder (Kudos to my colleague from QA
):
Go to the Asset Browser and drag the SpaceBall icon to your document

Then you have to click on "Online" once to activate the navigation.

Let me know if this helps.

Re: Motion Builder drivers
Yeah, it's working now, thanks a lot for that!
I'm trying different options now to customize the device properly.
I'm wondering if it's possible to save this SpaceBall settings to have them in every MotionBuilder file I open. Also the rotation centre is not affected by an object I select (called "Use selected item" in 3ds Max) - it's in the center of "camera" all the time. This unable to go around the object with one simple twist.
To anyone trying to configure 3d mouse I recommend to uncheck "Manipulate the selected objects in the viewer" - this will allow to move keys in Curve Editor and rotate the view in the same time.

Re: Motion Builder drivers
Very old thread here, but I don't see a "Spaceball icon" in my asset browser. This is in motionbuilder 2018 with the latest 10.5.3 drivers for my SpaceMouse Pro. I don't have any other autodesk tools installed at the moment, but this works great in 3D Coat, Unity (with the custom free plugin there), Sketchup, DAZ 3D, and so on.
Wish this supported iClone/Character Creator and in particular Substance Painter, but such is life.
