Hi Folks,
Firstly, I do sincerely appreciate all of the efforts that has gone into the 3DxWare version of the driver. I am certain that creating an all encompassing driver that supports all devices is no small undertaking.
That said; of late, the direction that 3DxWare, and by extension 3D Connexion, seems to be going is somewhat of a disappointment.
ISSUE
I have been experiencing an intermittent issue with the graduated versions of 3DxWare and figured I'd take a moment to post about it here.
Approximately half of the time, the 3DxLCD10SPPRO.EXE (1.3.2.8789, 09/04/2013) "Function Keys" applet will not appear in the LCD list on my SpacePilot Pro. I can reproduce the issue on all of my systems on any of my SpacePilot Pro devices. The issue randomly occurs with the other applets as well (ex: Picture Viewer, RSS Feed, etc.).
When I launch the Logitech LCD Manager Software (v3.06.109, 08/03/2010) and look at the 3Dconnexion SpacePilot Pro node, the applets that should launch have a check mark in the Allow column. When I look at the Programs node, the applets that should launch have a check mark in the Enable and 3Dconnexion SpacePilot Pro columns.
However, some of these applets (ex: 3DxLCD10SPPRO.EXE) will not show Running in the Status column. The applets are set to automatically start and the path to the applet is valid. When I launch Windows Task Manager, the applet appears in the list of running processes. I can get the applet to run and appear on the SpacePilot Pro LCD by following this procedure:
1. In Windows Task Manager, select the Processes tab.
2. Right-click the applet process (ex: 3DxLCD10SPPRO.EXE) and select End Process Tree ... End Process is not sufficient.
3. Wait a minimum of 10 seconds.
4. Double-click the applet (ex: 3DxLCD10SPPRO.EXE) which is typically found in: C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\Applets\
As with previous versions of 3DxWare, I typically follow this procedure:
1. Use Programs & Features to uninstall previous version of 3DxWare.
2. Follow steps in: http://www.3dconnexion.com/index.php?id ... red=faq/28
3. Disconnect SpacePilot Pro.
4. Remove 3D Connexion entries from Device Manager (XP/V/7/8 REF: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539).
5. Restart system.
6. Install latest 3DxWare driver.
7. Connect SpacePilot Pro.
8. Shutdown system.
9. Power on system.
FEEDBACK
1. According to the URL's below, the 3DxWare64_v10-0-20_r1721.exe driver should support all of the 3D Connexion devices - not only the SpaceMouse Wireless. If this is truly the case, the driver should be a selectable option for each device download on your website ... not only the SpaceMouse Wireless.

2. If 3D Connexion is truly looking to go the route of a unified (all-in-one) driver, other drivers should be removed from the device download drop-down lists. Having multiple (more than one) driver is confusing and the lack of a comparison matrix makes it difficult to determine the ideal driver to use.
3. The last BETA of 3DxWare 10 (10.0.16) seemed to provide much more flexibility in manipulating profiles than the FINAL release versions. Unless there's a technical reason to support this restriction, it would be most appreciated if the functionality that once existed could be restored or included in future versions of the driver.

I agree with this, I want to see this functionality return. It should also be much easier to replace the default profiles 3DxWare comes with without having conflicts or software deciding to use a different default profile.3.
