Manga Studio 5

Will this program work with your products? I know it isn't on the list of programs, but I'm not sure if there is at least limited functionality out of the box. Thanks.

Hi bart0469 -

SmithMicro has added the ability to accept input from 3D devices to their Poser software but not yet to Manga Studio.

It is that ability to accept 3D device input that allows a program to communicate with a 3Dconnexion device. Programs that do not have it are unable to recognize that a 3Dconnexion device is available.

It is usually input from their customers that prompts developers to add support. Please let them know of your interest through their forums or their customer support.

Thank you. So, your drivers are unable to map to different key presses in a program? I really just want to be able to zoom, pan, and rotate the canvas. This is currently not possible?

Hi Bart -

That's right - it's not something you can do in the driver GUI. The current 3DxWare driver does not have an option to direct events to an application that is not 3DMouse-aware.

For advanced users who want to work with creating their own .XML profile to do that, forum threads like this one give an idea of what is needed.

Really would love the ability to use this device in Magna Studio 5. We have 3 artist in our studio that are using it with the Wacom Cintq 22HD and it would be extremely helpful.

Hello Todd -

Please let SmithMicro know of your interest in using 3Dconnexion devices with Manga Studio.

SmithMicro developers can add support for 3Dconnexion devices in Manga Studio with our SDK as they did for the Poser software. It is often the amount of interest from their customers that prompts such decisions.
