Space Navigator assign keys

Post by lukebouwmeester »

Can I assign ctrl to one of the keys on the space navigator? Thinking about getting one for Catia V5R21

Hello Luke -

Yes, you can assign CTRL or any keyboard combination to a Space Navigator button.

For most applications this is done in the 3Dconnexion Properties window but Catia is an exception because it has its own internal button editor for a 3Dconnexion device. There is a 3DxDevice toolbar in Catia with an icon that opens the button editor [Catia |View | Toolbars | 3DxDevice | Button Customization].

I realize this post is pretty old, but it seems to be similar to a problem I have encountered. I have a SpaceMouse Pro (10.2.0 Firmware v.4.53) and am running CatiaV5 R20 SP2. I only have one issue and that is that in the Catia customization box for the buttons I cannot get the ctrl, shift, alt, and esc button commands to stick. I am able to fully customize the other buttons with true Catia commands but not these particular commands. I really need the ctrl and the shift and because they are not true Catia commands I cannot seem to get them to work.

Hello x-cel2,

the button customization window is provided with commands by Catia itself. Please make a request at Dassault for these commands.

UtaSH- There is not a way for the driver to add these commands to the Catia customization box? It appears the driver tries to add the command, but when you try to use the command it disappears from the customization box.

Catia V6 and 3Dconnexions spacemouse hardware doesnt like eachother.
I bought it for Catia V6 which i'm using daily
still the same problem of assign the keys
for the moment it's only the zooming that works. No rotation no Pan.
if you are using CATIA dont buy 3Dconnexion it's waste of money.

We have got here the same problem with Siemens NX 8.5 and SpaceMouse Pro / SpaceExplorer USB.
CTRL, ALT, ESC and SHIFT not working with there original function. If i assing different function like "Mute" the keys will work.

We are using 3DxWare for Windows 7 64bit in Version 10.2.1 within Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 with XenServer 6.2 in background.

Current driver 10.2.2 should fix the bug 6782, but with Siemens NX 8.5 we still have the problems with the keys "SHIFT", "ALT", "ESC" and "CTRL".

Hi TorstenS,

bug #6782 is related to Catia not NX.

The issue you encounter might be related to the fact that you are using the 3D mouse remotely. Unfortunately I cannot test this as we do not have citrix.

Hello

I've just received SpaceMouse Pro and I can't assign any functions for buttons. I'm working with Catia V5R20. I installed the current driver 10.2.2 from 3dconnexion site.

Damian
