Ok I've just about had enough... time for a rant.
Why is 3DXware so clunky to customize, and so hit and miss? I have PS 5 32 & 64 bit, and PS CC 64bit on Win 7 64.
I've had a SpaceNavigator for years, back in 2011 I finally got it to work with PS 32 bit (2D use only), including canvas rotation, by customizing the XML. See this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4196
Just updated from 10.2.1 to the latest 10.2.2 (uninstalled .1 and new install .2), and there goes rotation, just zoom and scroll in CS5 32/64. Oh and in CC I can only get scroll, no zoom.
The keystrokes for the various functions, are the same regardless of the PS version, so how come 3DX is so hopeless in working with them? AFAIK I can only have one profile for Photoshop. So some questions:
1 Where EXACTLY is the profile located that 3DX will use - there seems to be multiple CFG folders created by the install (why??)
2 Why does it not work the same in CC as CS5 64 ?
3 My custom Photoshop XML still has the correct info for canvas rotation - how come it no longer works properly?
Whilst I like the SpaceNavigator, I have to say the 3DX customization process is the worst and most bug ridden I've seen. The v10 software has been dumbed down from previous versions, so adding custom keystrokes requires XML skills. Might I suggest someone looks at Logitech's Mouse/Keyboard Settings to see how it should be done?

Hi BrianS. I share your sentiment. My following post is not necessarily directed at you, but something I hope is picked up by others on the forum. Maybe gain some traction, and hopefully we'll get some answers.
I picked up a 3Dconnexion Space Mouse hoping for it to compliment my Wacom set-up. I have to say, judging by the forums, it's very disheartening to see 4 year old threads asking for this feature [canvas rotate]. Is there a reason why it has not been implemented officially? There has to be a reason. Has a plugin been developed to manage this? Where can I find it? How a plugin hasn't been developed yet is beyond me. I've tried accessing some of the links in the forums reporting to instruct you on how to enable the feature, but the links don't work, or are locked down.
Set-up: Win 7 (64bit), PS:CS6 (64bit), Wacom 24HD Touch.
Now, my graphics tablet does have canvas rotate built in (what prevents 3Dconnexion from doing this?). The ease of using a 3D Mouse to handle pan, zoom, and rotate, can't be underestimated.
I just can't wrap my head around why it hasn't been implemented officially, it would be a HUGE selling point to the many PS artists out there.

Hi QuitYerYappin,
No argument from me.
I also use a Wacom - Intuos 4 - Large, I've reverted to using the Touch Ring to handle canvas rotation.
I have always prefered the Navigator for Zoom, scroll, pan and rotation in PS as it is more ergonomic for these purposes - exactly what it is designed for in 3d situations where this need is more critical.
The current install 'includes' profiles for PS, CSX and CC, but they clearly don't work properly.
Interesting that there has been no reply from anyone from 3DX
