I run a design office using wired Space navigators on Dell Optiplex 980's running Windows 7, 64 bit and they all work fantastically and have for the last 4 years.
We had reason to expand recently though and I purchased a new Dell Precision machine still running Windows 7, 64 bit and have busing myself today installing Catia and other software we use.
I am trying to install one of my Space navigators on it and can not get it to work. It's usually such a simple task as well, Install the software, plug in the navigator and away we go.
This new machine simply does not recognise it as being connected, tried it in other USB sockets, tried other USB devices in those sockets, they all work, Tried plugging it in with the machine on, off, restarting Etc. but nothing happens. Blue light do come on and I have tested the navigator on another PC and it's all fine. I've also tried 4 different driver versions and they meet with the same results.
I once got it working and managed to move a Catia model a few inches on the screen then it failed again, no Windows warning messages, nothing.
Any thoughts, I really can't face using Catia without the Space Navigator working!
