3DxWare 10 bug in Zoom Direction for 3ds max
Just to understand the bug, enable Forward/Backward for Zoom Direction, then create a box in 3ds max and look at it in perspective viewport at 45 degrees above the horizon. Start rotate clockwise with cap. Then look at the box in perspective viewport at 45 degrees below the horizon. Start rotate clockwise with cap. You will see that rotation of the viewport is done in the same direction, and this is right behavior. Now change Zoom Direction to Up/Down Then look at the box in perspective viewport at 45 degrees above the horizon. Start rotate clockwise with cap. Then look at the box in perspective viewport at 45 degrees below the horizon. Start rotate clockwise with cap and you will see that rotation of the viewport is done at the opposite direction which is unexpected!!! As I understand most users use Up/Down for Zoom Direction and find this behavior wrong. I think the same problem also exist in Maya as I read a topic here where Maya user was describing the same problem

MORE OVER looks like Up/Down for Zoom Direction is broken for other applications. I just find out that if you have Up/Down enabled for Zoom Direction in Photoshop you will never be able to use cap rotation to change the brush size, while if you have Forward/Backward for Zoom Direction then the brush size change with cap rotation works fine. And one more. DOES ANYONE FROM 3d connexion WILL EVER ANSWER TO THE POSTS I WRITE HERE??????

Hi lextorlex,
please provide some more details:
- which 3dsmax version do you have?
- what is the version of the driver that you have installed?
- in "Advanced Settings" do you have the "Object Mode", the "Camera Mode" or the "Target Camera Mode" active?

Re: 3DxWare 10 bug in Zoom Direction for 3ds max
- 3ds max 2013. But it doesn't matter which version is. The same behaviour is alsoo seen in latest 3ds max 2016
- I have the latest 10.2.3 driver installed
- in "Advanced Settings" I have the "Target Camera Mode" active with lock horizon.
Also, don't forget about bug with Up / Down for Zoom Direction in Photoshop I described in previous reply.
