Potential Bug

Post by nehumanuscrede »

Loaded and running v10.2.8 r2007 version of the software on an Alienware M17 Laptop ( Windows 7 )

Usually, when the laptop boots it will enable / disable the Synaptics touchpad depending on if it detected a mouse plugged in or not. Recently, the laptop has been disabling the touchpad even with nothing plugged into it which is rather odd.

I believe it is the 3DX software causing the issue as once I uninstalled it, the problem ceased and the touchpad returned to normal operation.
You all might want to take a look at it.

3DxWare 10 includes a mouse emulator. This may fool the touchpad code into thinking there is a real mouse attached.
You can uninstall the mouse emulator in the device manager. Of course, that means it won't work with your 3Dx device.
