I have drift in my device and I tried setting a deadband value in %appdata%\3dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg\Global_User.xml - which was already set to 10, presumably from an old version of 3dxware that allowed you to set it in the app.

However - whatever value I used did nothing, even though checking the 3DxService.log I could see the file was being loaded - while checking that log however I also found C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxWinCore64\Cfg\Global.xml - which also had a global deadband setting, but set to 0, changing the value in that file worked.

you can try this:
set a global Deadband in the %appdata%\3dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg\Global_User.xml.
It is used for all devices. The range is the input range of the device, ~350.
Is it possible to adjust the global Deadband on a Mac?

I do realize this is a Windows forum, but as new forum user, I was not able to start a new thread. :( Perhaps after this post I will be. :D

No, sorry. This cannot be changed on the Mac.

I'm glad to say I don't have this problem but a colleague next to me does so we swapped our Space mice over. Hot swapped and the problem transferred to my machine
So I'm guessing it's a hardware problem?

A few years later on this issue.

I began to have the same problem. Calibrated twice and no help, then I saw "flat surface." mine was on a sloping keyboard support, not much, but wasn't completely flat/level. I 'Calibrated' twice more on level desktop and all seems OK now.

Good Morning All,

I have now developed the mentioned problem after having my laptop formatted and re-installed. Everything worked perfectly before, but had other Windows / graphics driver related issues, so IT decided to format and re-install the laptop.
Now when moving my assembly model around, it continues to move for a short time even after I have stopped moving the spacemouse.
I've tried re-calibrating the SM several times, but still no fix. Application restart, and even laptop restart also does not fix the issue.
(Table is flat, SM is unobstructed with no inputs unless done so by my hand).

Input seems to be delayed as it only continues to move for a fraction of a second if small/short inputs are made with the SM. If I go crazy and "Twizzle" it around like a madman and then stop, it will continue with movement for a second or 2.

I have tried the receiver in both the available USB 2 slots on laptop as well as the USB 3 slot on the Dell dock. Again, no change.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Small update to my previous post.
Nvidia driver has been updated to latest version (31.0.15.5241).

I've also tried a bit more fault finding, but seems on a whole the error is between the space mouse input and Inventor.
Same delay movement happening even when opening just a small single part file (Simple cylinder).
Using the included software of the SM and loading the "Viewer" with the jet engine, movement is perfect. No delay, no continued movement after input has stopped. Works 100%.......Just not in Inventor.

Hello,

I also updated the driver to 10.8.21 recently, and I am having the similar issue as explained in this chain. I have already tried these steps:
1.Calibrate the Mouse many time
2. Reset the settings and restore the default settings
3. Delete the user settings and reinstallation of the driver

However, nothing seems to be working. Please help.

For those with a similar issue, I am working through this with the US based support team.
I've sent log files from 3Dx to them and hope to hear something back soon.

The last solution I tried was to completely stop and remove the 3Dx software and reinstall. This worked in stabilizing my motion for a few hours, however coming into the office the next day, the issue was back.
No issues with Inventor, as I can manipulate / rotate the model without issue using the mouse and keyboard, it is just when using the spacemouse that this delay and continued motion occurs.

Will keep this thread updated as / when I hear back from support team to hopefully correct whatever is causing this issue to occur.

wtruter,

Thank you, I hope they can resolve it soon. I'm having the same issue. I've also found that if I remove the 3dx software and re-install the issue will go away until the next day.

Using Windows 11 / Inventor 2024 / SpaceMouse Enterprise.

I have had this same issue that started after the installation of the newest driver running Inventor 2024.

I have been able to to fix the issue for now by going to to the driver archive and installing on old driver.

Spacemouse Pro Wireless using driver version 10.8.9.3501.

I'll keep an eye for the solution with the newest driver.

Good to see I am not the only one with the issue. I did wonder if it was something in the latest drivers as my spacemouse worked fine on a previous install and 3Dx firmware. Unfortunately my system is a work laptop, so it is not the easiest to un-install and re-install software due to IT security policies etc.

If no solution found in the next week, I will try and revert back to an older version and hopefully have no issues.

There is indeed a problem with Inventor in the latest release. It is fixed in the next release (soon).
In the meantime, you can contact tech support for a workaround.

Thank you for the update.
I am in communication with the support team, but have not been given any workaround. Will continue to use my keyboard and store the spacemouse until the next release.
Good to know its not my space mouse, but the firmware with a fix on the way.
