which command do I have to map to the device button to rotate, pan around a center point in Inventor 2008 ? In SolidWorks it used to be "set center point".

There is a function in Inventor called "Rotate F4" which you can map on a key from your device. Using this function you will be able to set a rotation point.
You can map that function using the "Button Mapping Editor", by selecting the category "View" and dragging the "Rotate 4F" to a key of your device.

yes, but it only covers let's say.. 60% of the screen, if the corner that I want to pick is at the very far top right corner , I have to pan my component closer to the middle of the screen to select the rotation point. I liked the way it was done in SolidWorks.
