Strange problem with TrendMicro and Catia

Post by AntiVirProblem »

Hello,

we are using several space mouses in our company in Germany. We have some trouble when some users try to use their space mouses with catia.
It seems that our trendmicro office scan agent is blocking something but it does not appear in any logfile of trendmicro (client and server).

When user x starts his space mouse driver and after that he starts catia, catia won't start. When we (admins) temporaly disable the trendmicro office scan agent, it works again.
When this users tries to start catia without starting the space mouse driver, catia will start without any problems and without disabling the office scan agent.

Doesn't matter which driver version (we tryed several)
Its windows 7 enterprise x64
Catia v5 R18
Office scan agent is up to date

I did some resarch on google but didn't find a solution.

Is this a known problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some more information:

Catia pops up, but it stucks loading. You cannot click anywhere in the window. When you do, catia will freeze and you can only terminate the process.
Ive investigated with processexplorer. It does not work even only the 3dxservice.exe is running, Ive closed any other 3dx process. When I kill this last process, I can start catia normally.

Hello AntiVirProblem,

as far as I know Catia is using a network interface to activate the support for the 3D mouse. But I don't remember what exactly you have to do. :(

Have you checked if the problem disappears if you create an exception for the 3DxService.exe in TrendMicro?

Yes I can put it on all lists, it does not work.

I tried to reinstall TrendMicro on one workstation now, seems to work so far. This is strange...
Dis this on a second WS and we will test it.

It seems that reinstallation of TrendMicro on the related clients solves the problem. Honestly I don't understand this behaviour but I don't really care since I don't want to waste more time. Already invested much time...
