"wheel" pop-up menu driving me nuts! How to disable?

Post by B_Harrison »

I am running a space navigator on windows 8.1

3DxWare 10 version 10.4.4
3DxWinCore version 17.4.4.13133
Devices: SpaceNavigator (firmware v. 3.17)

The navigator is used exclusively for AutoDesk Fusion 360.

I have an annoying problem with the pop-up wheel menu thing. It appears when the mouse is still, and I do not need it or want it. if I do not click the little 'x' in the center of the wheel, it cause view changes / scrolling, etc. All I want to do is disable it completely.

Please help!

Hi B_Harrison,

I am not sure what happens on your machine. From your description I assume you are talking about the Radial Menu? This should only appear if you press one of the buttons on your device. If a radial menu is mapped to the button.

Do you see the same behavior if you open the 3Dconnexion viewer? Or if you scroll up and down in your web browser?

It might as well be that your device has a failure. From the firmware it seems to be many years old.

Radial menu I guess is what it is called, thank you. ;-)

The behavior is somewhat random, and it happens in pretty much any application. If the mouse pointer is not moving, suddenly the radial menu pops up, on it's own. Very frustrating.

As far as age, I don't know... I bought it just over a year ago.

Can I update the firmware?

Thanks for the help!

Hello B_Harrison,

if the device is broken, a firmware update will not solve the issue. :(

Please get in touch with our Technical Support Team. They will do the necessary troubleshooting and help with a replacement if necessary.
