Hello there, got a bit of a problem here.
For the most part this was not a problem as I mostly used my keyboard and my Spacemouse Pro as an auxiliary view-port navigation tool (since I had problems at first but cannot remember what the blazes they were when I first posted in the forums) but as I begin using the SM Pro more and more, becoming faster and faster, I have noticed a few issues that are impeding my ability to effectively use the mouse.
With Auto checked under Rotation Center in the Advanced Options I cannot right-click hold and drag the component-mode I want to select. When I try, the component (be it vert points/edges/face centers) will flash for a fraction of a second before the object is completely deselected. Having the object selected or deselected before I try to use the right-click menu does not influence this as well as using the right/click menu in empty space away from the object in question when it is selected. It does not matter if I am using my Wacom Intuos or G700s Mouse when attempting this action. Furthermore, I can enter component mode by using the keyboard hotkeys but this defeats the speed gains I get by using the Spacemouse. Another issue is where selecting a component before panning/rotating/zooming the view, everything works as normal, but if I am in component mode and have no components selected I will be dropped completely out of component mode and the object will be swiftly deselected if I use the mouse to change the view at all. Lastly, this was more of a problem with the drivers from back in July and has almost disappeared but still pops up enough to remain a grievance; While preforming an action such as beveling, extruding, connecting, etc, the context sensitive menu will vanish and the action considered complete thus forcing me over to the Channel Box to find the node and resume editing.
As I stated at the beginning, these issues only happen with Auto checked under Rotation Center in the Advanced Options. Unchecking Auto fixes all of the aforementioned issues but this is like throwing out the clutch-plate because the gears keeps slipping and renders the mouse unusable. Working with models sometimes hundreds of meters tall the rotation pivot will at first fall on the last selected object's pivot but switching to component mode will move the pivot back to the center of the world which results in the slightest brush of the 3D Mouse sending the camera flying away. The latest drivers do not fix this and while hot keys still work for component selection I cannot put any of them on the mouse as all of the buttons have been optimised for modeling and it does not solve the random disappearances of context sensitive modeling menus.
Is there any known fix?
Thank you.

Stupid me but I cannot find an edit button, if it even exists, to add something I forgot to mention.
I mentioned that rotating the view when in component mode and no components selected will cause the object to be deselected if I attempted to move the view at all. I forgot to mention that even if I do not touch the Spacemouse Pro, the object will become completely deselected if I click anywhere in open space.

Hello DasPoot,
we are tracking this issue with our internal bug number #6055.

- The workaround is to NOT select the object before pressing the right mouse
button - instead press the rmb above the object
selecting an object beforehand only works if this is in the middle of the
screen.

Re: Maya 2016 SP6 Component Selection/Deselection Glitches
That only works some of the time and is completely useless when there are a lot of meshes is close proximity (like in hardsurface mechanical modeling), forcing me to isolate the object then unisolate it in order to ensure that it meshes properly with the adjacent hard surfaces; This in turn means that I lose any speed gains by using the mouse. There are still the issues of the context sensitive menus disappearing as well as the object being deselected and me being kicked into object mode when there are no components selected and I use the spacemouse to change the view or click in empty space.

hello friend,
I'm mainly a hardsurface modeler in Maya also... this issue is def a pain. The only way to force this from happening is to control-MMB on a specific mesh you want to work on ... and isolate a lot. Sucks.. I reported this a while back too.
Is marking menu's disappearing due to the 3d mouse? I have had this issue as well didn't realize its the mouse. Recently happened yesterday when I opened up the UV editor. (3d mouse doesnt even work in the UV editor or anything but persp/ortho views)
