Pro/E choking with Navigator

Don't know why, but Pro/E is extremely slow with the Space Navigator software installed. Takes forever for it to just register a surface when I'm just running the mouse over it. Any right clicks are also slow. Takes a long time to hide or highlight a model tree item, just abotu everything is slow except for the spin/pan/zoom. Really seems like it's choking with this.

I'm running 32 bit Pro/E Wildfire 3.0 M070, and have 3Dx version 3.3.6 installed. Let me know what else I need to post to try and figure this out. Thanks!

Hi truckpoor,

There is a good chance this is caused by the device constantly sending data. Press the Calibrate button in the 3DxWare GUI while you are not touching the SpaceNavigator.

Please try at first the calibration advised by jwick. If it doesn't help check if you have 3DxOffice installed as well. We would advise to remove 3DxOffice.

Okay, I opened the GUI with the desktop icon and clicked calibrate. Didn't seem to do anything and it's still slow while running Pro/E. How do I check if I'm running the 3dx Office?

And what are the minimum settings I need to install to run Pro/E? I didn't install any of the other programs that I know I'm not running on this computer, ie Solidworks, Sketchup, Autocad, Inventor etc. But I'm not sure what some of the others are like the Plug-in for NX, 3ds max 6-8 and 3ds max 9. Also haven't heard of Solid Edge so I left it in. Didn't see an option for 3dx Office.

Do you see any difference in the navigation for now (I mean after the calibration)?

The calibration doesn't has any spectacular effect on his own. Only the CPU-load will be reduced and the applications should work better (smoother navigation).

In fact 3DxOffice is a separate (archive) module not included in the current releases any more. If you didn't install 3DxOffice don't do it either.
