Hi all,
I'm a long-time user since the days of the (Spacetec IMC) "Spaceball 2003". I currently own a SpacePilot (2005) and a SpacePilot Pro (2009) and use them for CAD.
Do the new generation 3DXWare v10.x drivers offer a way to save multiple profiles for the same application the way that the old 3DXWare v3.x driver did? I save multiple profiles for my Space Pilot all the time - both as backups and to switch functionalities, but I can't find this feature in the new driver.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Save multiple profiles?

Re: Save multiple profiles?
The simple answer is "they are just files". You can use your O/S functions to copy them around. If you replace one with another, the driver will notice it changed and use the new one. You can do a backup (to a different directory) and copy/paste from the dir as needed.
Your user changes are saved in %appdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg. The file for your application is probably named something like executableName.xml. You can swap between cfg versions by coping this file to a backup location and copying your other file to this location.
If you want to use device buttons to do that, this is possible but there is no GUI support for setting it up. It's a fair amount of work.
You can also save multiple sets of buttons in the same cfg file. Again, no GUI support--fair amount of work.
This can be somewhat application-dependent. This is the simplest case. If we have a plugin for your application, there may be more involved than this.
