SpaceMouse Pro Buttons Causing Unexpected Behavior

Hi,

I'm using the SpaceMouse Pro with Windows 10. I can use the normal 3DConnexion menu to set the numbered (1-4) buttons on the device to whatever function/command I need on a per-application basis. However, when I press one of the buttons, in addition to doing whatever function I've assigned to it in the current application (e.g. Chrome or Rhino) it also does some other action. For example, the [4] button, which I've set to run a script in Rhino, also opens Windows Task Manager, and the [3] button also opens a copy of "3DxViewer" that grabs all my CPU but doesn't have any visible effect.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? It seems like there's another application that's listening for the button presses even when it's not the active window. Is there any way to see/set the button functions for all applications in the same place rather than on a per-application basis through the menu? I'm pretty sure this started happening some time after I switched from Windows 7 to 10. It's rather annoying, so I don't think I could have not noticed it.

UPDATE:

After some digging around, I found that the unexpected actions appear to be the defaults for the "Desktop" set of button functions that becomes available when no other apps are active. However, I changed all the functions there to map to the keyboard [CTRL] key, and the same behavior occurs as before.

I'm having the same issue, when I press the Right side keys, the corresponding Left side keys action are carried out along with the button pressed. For example, if i press the [T]B button, the [2]7's action is also carried out. I've tried setting all the Left side keys to [CTRL] so that no action would be carried out, but then i noticed that OTHER actions were also carried out. So if i press the [T]B button, I get the following commands... [T]B, [2]7, [+] "increase speed"

Not sure what is going on here and I hope there is a easy solution for this as I use the space pilot pro every day. The only things that have changed recently are that I did some windows updates, and switched out my old Corsair gaming mouse for a fresh Gigabyte M6980x mouse.

I have reinstalled the drivers for the SpacePilot, Reset my computer (lol) and erased all my user settings but nothing is helping.

might be a hardware failure? When you say you erased your settings - did you follow the procedure described in this FAQ?
