Loading settings from a MAC profile into windows

Post by studiosjj »

Hi,

I use my Spacenavigator on both OSX and Windows 10, is there any way that I can use my settings from my mac set up via the saved 3Dconnexion Config.3dc file? I find the Windows 3dconnexion control panel pretty useless/backward for saving importing settings or for that matter setting them! It currently only allows me to set any settings for either windows explorer or bins (under parallels on a mac)especially if you are using multiple systems.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi studiosjj,

the configurations from the Windows driver and the Mac driver are not compatible. Sorry.

Ok. So can I export my settings from my office PC to import on my home PC?

Yes. Windows to Windows is supported. Assuming they are running relatively similar versions.
There is currently no utility to help you with this.
It is possibly application-dependent, but basically you need to copy your user cfg files (.xml) from %appdata%/3Dconnexion/3dxware/cfg from one machine to the other.
You can also possibly just mirror this directory over the network.
