Settings are gone!

Post by saudade »

I spent about two hours to program my spacepilot with Rhino 4.0 programming several macros.
I saved my "Rhino - account" configuration saving it whit name "Rhino1"
Then I checked for driver update calling the Wizard update command
then I clicked on validate installation..
Restarting Rhino 4.0 all my previous saved settings disappeared from the menu
But selecting the Delete Saved configuration command I can see from the list my saved configuration named "Rhino1"
How can I load (or restore) my saved configuration????

I think that spacepilot software needs a little bit of serious programming...

On document and settings in my account folder there are the custom settings (profiles) named user00.scg...user01.scg...etc.
I opened the files with wordpad to understand what was my last saved configuration....
please name them with own name!
I found the file named Rhinoceros.scg, I deleted it and copied the userXX.scg renaming it Rhinoceros.scg...
Now my setting are back!

It's incredible how nobody have had this problem before!!!

Hello saudade,

After you saved your custom Rhino1 configuration, you just needed to start Rhino, bring up the 3DxWare GUI and select your Rhino1 configuration in the top dropdown combobox. That association is kept in the registry. It might be that doing the Wizard removed that association. Selecting it again will restore that association.

If that doesn't work, you might be having a permissions issue with your registry.
