CAD Mouse suddenly behaving badly

Post by acandd »

Recently, our CAD Mouse began experiencing some odd behavior all of the sudden. Now, about 5% of the time, single-clicks are registering as double-clicks in AutoCAD 2017. We have tested the mouse on two other systems and one other user reported the same problem while the other did not. Again, until recently, the CAD Mouse worked flawlessly on every computer in the office.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and if anyone has any ideas on how I can troubleshoot the problem further. The crappy part is that we had been testing this single CAD Mouse in the office before we decided to buy them for all the drafters. We placed the order for 4 more last week before this problem appeared. I would hate to send back the mice if this is a problem that cannot be solved.

Thanks.

I had this too after 2-3 months.

You have to fill an official support ticket.
My mouse had to be replaced.

You are not alone. Sometimes mine will act like it holds down the Ctrl key on its own. This morning I double clicked to open a tab and it opened 3! It is progressively getting worse. I believe the contacts under the buttons are becoming deformed or sticking. This is my second CadMouse. The first was replaced due to corrosion around the trim ring. This one has been better until now. I love the mouse, but this is frustrating!
