Hi, your configuration demo has the spin and roll directions right. However, your control panel has them mixed up. They are also mixed up in my applications. I mainly use Rhino 3d. I would like my roll and spin to work as is illustrated in your configuration demo and not your control panel. Please let me know how to fix this. I downloaded the software yesterday so it should be current.
Thanks, below is a screen capture to help. I want the roll/spin on the right, what I'm getting is the one on the left.
Yes, changing the zoom also changes the roll/spin. Is this right? I'd vastly prefer it if I could zoom with push/pull while still maintianing my above preference on roll/spin. Why does roll/spin change when one switches zoom/pan?
I see that the axes can be remapped. Can I get a sample line for my preference?
Also, I can't find my config file. When I hover over the systray icon it displays user01.scg. I seached the computer for user01.scg with no results. I've found a rhinoceros.scg file, however, changes to it don't have any effect.
By default when we change the zoom direction (which changes two translation axes), we also change the two cooresponding rotation axes. If you prefer your rotation axes to remain unchanged, modify the following lines in the [SPACEEXPLORER] section of the config file for your application to:
(The case is important)
This indicates that in "VRT" (Vertical) mode only the 2nd and 3rd axes are swapped, and the sign of the third axis is reversed.
This has been driving me crazy, and could't manually remap the axis because I couldn't find the config file on my Mac. I completely gave up on using my SpaceNavigator on my Mac because of this.
I can confirm that this works perfectly on a Mac.
My ideal settings:
(OSX) System Preferences -> 3DConnexion
- Device -> set Zoom Direction to 2nd option (horizontal / blue arrows)
- Application -> Reverse All Axes, Dominant OFF
- Device + Advanced -> set all speeds to MAX
iRhino Preferences -> 3DConnexion
- Swap Pan & Zoom
- do NOT allow Tilt
Thank you sooo much for giving me back my SpaceNavigator, you have *no* idea how happy this makes me! <3
