Set rotate point in Unigraphics NX5

Post by nicolai »

I'm having some trouble with the 'set rotate point' in UG NX5. The command is built into my spacepilot by default, but it doesn't seem to do anything when i press it. When i look more into it, it seems like it just sends ctrl+F12 to UG, which does nothing (i don't know if that used to set a rotation point, prior to NX5). Also, i've been trying to find or set a keyboard shortcut for it, with no luck.

How do i bind 'set rotate point' to my spacepilot?

Hi nicolai,

I will check this out and give you an answer later this day. You are using Windows XP?

Hi nicolai,

Please first remove all of your custom configs in the 3Dconnexion control panel. The default buttons on my SpacePilot (using the latest driver 3.5.5) are as follows:
1 Operation...
2 Program...
3 Tool...
4 Geometry...
5 Method...
6

If I then open the "Button Mapping Editor" by clicking on 3DxNX next to preferences, "set rotate point" should be under the 3DxWare category. You should be able to drag and drop this command to Button 6.
Does "Set rotate point" now show up in your SpacePilot? Do the other buttons work?
Please also tell me, which language-version of Windows, NX 5 and 3DxWare you are using.
