Hi,
I just got a new Space Navigator and I love it... except for the sketchup plugin. For some reason when activating the camera mode, the 3DxWare inverses all axes, which means my pan/zoom/tilt axes are inversed as well. This is highly annoying. I do understand that the z-axis of my SpaceNavigator (look around tool in SketchUp) is to be inverted when swapping to camera mode - and it does, but why all the other axes as well? Is there a way to fix this, or can this please be fixed in a future update?
Thanks

Hi Been,
For me the "Camera mode" works as expected - instead of moving the scene like you would with your hands (Object mode), the camera is moved.
But you can reverse the axes if you want to. Open the "3Dconnexion Control Panel". Then open the "Advanced Settings"-tab. There you can selective reverse axes.

Hi rstadie,
Thanx for your reply. I understand your perspective on the subject, but to me it is not intuitive. The way the driver works now, I have to open my control panel, or change my way of panning/zooming/tilting every time I swap to camera mode, which means in my profession about every 2 minutes. It takes either a lot of time or mind gym you see... I do like the option for the center of rotation to be your focal plane, but would it be possible in a future driver that you can choose which axes you want to invert when swapping to camera mode?

Hi Been,
The behaviour you described is correct because thats what camera mode is. This is how camera mode works and should work:
When you press the cap forward, you get closer to the object.
When you pan the cap to the left, you move your viewpoint to the left.
When you push the cap down, you move your viewpoint down.
When you spin your cap, you move your viewpoint around the object.
While switching to camera mode you need to switch your way of thinking too: In camera mode you do not move the object itself but the camera around the object. That needs some exercise - but its worth the time

Hi Robert,
I understand your point of view, but to me it is a flaw in the software and the difference between mathematical correct but unusable and intuive and good software. So please take my comments as an advice and a professional user experience for future improvement. We're 12 at our office and I'm the test dummy for this product to see wether we would buy more. The colleagues who tried the navigator on my machine all came with the same comment and I just searched the forum on the issue and found several posts on the subject.
