Vista 3dsMax9/2008 problem!

Post by dead4sure »

Hi guys,

i've been bought a SpaceNavigatorPE and installed it etc! The installation works fine and the device works well in Photoshop but when i open 3dsMax 9 or 2008 the drivers seem to load and the appropriate dialog boxes appear in the relevant (hammer) tab in both versions! The device doesn't do anything when in max though! i noticed that when i use the device in photoshop the "Any Application" drop down changes to "Photoshop", this doesn't happen in max!

is there something really obvious i'm missing? i assume i am just being a bit of a n00b here so any help will be fantastic!

cheers in advance!

Dead4sure,
The 3Dconnexion panel is accessible from the utilities tab (hammer icon). Click on 3DxStudio to access the plug-in options: Control Panel & Button Mapping Editor.
The control panel tool is used to configure motion control within 3ds max. The button mapping editor is used to configure buttons on the 3Dconnexion controller. Click on either depending on which aspect needs to be configured..

hey thanks for the input! i checked the control panel in max but nothing needed any changes!

after exiting max in frustration i maximised the 3DxWare from the taskbar icon! i left this open so the dialog screen was displayed and opened max again! Somehow it worked this time =D not sure why it doesn't work with the icon in the system tray though...!?

either way opening the control panel before going into max isn't a big issue for me so i'll call that a solution lol!

cheers for the help!
