Need plug-in for 3ds max 5

Post by Accel »

Hi,

I consulted with Fred this morning about installing plug-ins to run my new Space Navigator on 3ds max 5 with no luck. He sent me an older set of script files that was known to work with version 5 but he surmised that it didn't work because my device is newer than what the plug-in was meant to run. To me, it seems that the error is due to an unexpected text format, but I'm not an expert so I could be wrong. All I know is that I installed the files in the correct folders as follows:

3dxstd.dlu into stdplugs sub-directory,
3DxStudio.chm into help sub-directory,
3DxStudio.ms into scripts\startup sub-directory.

Could you please look into this and possibly correct the problem? It would be great for someone who doesn't have $3K to fork out on an upgrade at the moment or in the foreseeable future.

Thanks,

Angelo

I thought I posted this to the developer's forum. I wonder what I did wrong.

I moved your post here. This is the only place monitored by the Max developers. The Developer's forum is only monitored for the purposes of helping people add support to their own applications.

Well, that answers my question that I just posted on the developer's forum. Fred advised me to leave a post there. Sorry.
