Are there any plugins for Media Player or TechSmith's Camtasia Studio?
I would like to use the SpaceNavigator to handle going foward and back and making the cut in out marks.

We encourage you to contact the software developers, Microsoft, and share with them your thoughts and desires for them to incorporate use of our 3D Mice with their applications. We provide a free API, Application Programmer's Interface, on our web site, to make it easy for them to incorporate input signals from our devices into their software applications.

It would benefit 3DConnexion/Logitech more than Microsoft to build a plug in for, at least, Camtasia Studio. Techsmith has a large Camtasia user base and tons of people like me who would probably buy your hardware if it helped to make editing video's a little easier.
I'm a programmer and will download the SDK and give it a shot.

Good stuff. We have a forum to help out developers. Be sure to drop us a note when you can.briankb wrote:I'm a programmer and will download the SDK and give it a shot.

Isn't it sad that you have to do this?briankb wrote:

We have one of the most innovative pieces of hardware, crying out to have a driver which lets us, the users use it in all sorts of innovative ways yet it is left to those very users to come up with the wherewithall.
I bought my Spacepilot specifically for use in Solidworks and it revolutionised the way I could interact with the model. There is nothing else on the market that I know of (at an affordable price) that comes close to it. After only a short while I began to think how cool it would be to be able to use the SP in Premiere or Vegas video, as a jog/zoom control, or why not in MS flightsim as a 6DOF viewer in the new virtual cockpits or even HalfLife2..... It is so frustrating to have such a useful, innovative piece of hardware sitting there gagged, blindfolded, one arm and two legs tied behind its back when it could be doing so much more. I don't want to just be able to program the keys, I could go out and buy a keyboard for
Regards, Jeff.
